PLATELET-RICH FIBRIN
Platelet-rich fibrin (PRF) is a regenerative treatment created from your own blood. A small blood sample is drawn and processed to concentrate platelets and growth factors within a fibrin matrix, which acts as a natural scaffold and supports the body’s healing and regenerative processes.
PRF isn’t intended to create significant volume or structural change. I use it when the goal is to support the quality of the tissue itself and encourage gradual improvement in the skin over time. One of my favorite areas to treat with PRF is the undereye area, where the skin is naturally thin and changes in skin quality can contribute to a tired appearance. For the right patient, PRF can be a good option when the goal is regenerative improvement rather than adding volume.
Because PRF works with your body’s own regenerative response, results develop gradually and vary from person to person. A series of treatments is typically recommended initially, followed by maintenance based on your individual response, goals, and how the tissue continues to age.
