QUESTIONS ABOUT AESTHETIC TREATMENTS?
ARE AESTHETIC TREATMENTS RIGHT FOR ME?
Aesthetic treatments are highly individualized, and what is appropriate for one person may not be appropriate for another. During your consultation and assessment, we’ll discuss your goals, medical history, previous treatments, and any concerns you have before deciding what, if anything, I recommend.
There are also circumstances in which treatment may need to be postponed or may not be appropriate. Please disclose all medical conditions, medications, allergies, recent procedures, and previous aesthetic treatments prior to your appointment.
ARE AESTHETIC TREATMENTS RIGHT FOR ME?
You don’t need to know before you come in. In fact, I prefer that patients tell me what they’re seeing or what is bothering them rather than feeling like they need to choose a specific product or procedure on their own.
I assess the face as a whole, taking into consideration your anatomy, proportions, movement, volume, skin quality, and goals. From there, I can recommend a treatment, or combination of treatments, that I feel will make the most meaningful difference.
WILL I NEED EVERYTHING DONE AT ONCE?
No. I take a conservative approach to aesthetics and often prefer to build gradually. Not every concern needs to be addressed at the same appointment, and not everyone needs the same treatments.
For patients who would benefit from more than one modality, we can create a treatment plan and prioritize what will make the biggest difference first.
WILL I STILL LOOK LIKE MYSELF?
Yes — that is always the goal. I want my patients to look refreshed and balanced while still looking like themselves.
My approach is not to change your face or chase a particular aesthetic. Treatment is based on your individual anatomy and features, with the goal of enhancing what is already there.
WHAT IF I HAVE PREVIOUS AESTHETIC WORK?
Having previous treatment does not necessarily mean that you need to dissolve it or start over. I’ll assess the area and determine whether your existing results can be worked with or whether I recommend making adjustments before proceeding.
If you have records detailing the products used, amounts injected, and dates of previous treatments, please bring them with you when possible.
DO I NEED A CONSULTATION BEFORE TREATMENT?
A consultation and assessment are part of every appointment. If you would like more time for a comprehensive facial assessment and to discuss a long-term treatment plan, you may book a dedicated 60-minute consultation.
The consultation fee is $200 and will be applied toward the cost of treatment if treatment is performed during the same appointment.
HOW MUCH DOWNTIME SHOULD I EXPECT?
Downtime depends on the treatment. With injectable treatments, temporary swelling, redness, tenderness, and bruising are possible. Some treatments have very little visible downtime, while others may require several days for swelling or other expected effects to resolve. If you have an important event, photos, or travel planned, please let me know when booking so we can discuss appropriate timing.
For more information on how to prepare for your appointment and what to expect afterward, please review my Pre + Post Care for Aesthetics guidelines.
WHEN WILL I SEE MY FINAL RESULT?
This depends on the treatment. Dermal filler provides an immediate change, although swelling can temporarily affect the appearance of the result. Neurotoxins develop gradually, while biostimulatory (Sculptra and Radiuses) and regenerative treatments (PRF and microneedling) rely on processes that occur over time.
Because every treatment has a different timeline, I’ll review what to expect and when to assess your final result at your appointment.
HOW LONG WILL MY RESULTS LAST?
There is no single timeline for aesthetic treatments. Longevity depends on the treatment or product used, the area treated, your anatomy and metabolism, and other individual factors.
Rather than treating according to a fixed schedule, I prefer to reassess over time and recommend maintenance when it is actually needed.
HOW LONG WILL MY RESULTS LAST?
I recommend planning aesthetic treatments well in advance of weddings, vacations, professional photos, or other important events. Even treatments with minimal downtime can cause unexpected bruising or swelling, and some results take time to fully develop.
If you have an upcoming event, let me know the date so we can plan your treatment accordingly.
